چکیده

which are difficult to relate to possible exploration Active circulation of cool groundwater in mountainous terrain can cause an advective disturbance of the thermal regime. This factor complicates interpretatiort of data collected in geothermal exploration programs. An isothermal free-surface model has been developed which provides qualitative insight into the nature of an advective disturbance as it is affected by topography, permeability and climate. A fully coupled model of fluid and heat transfer is being developed for quantitative study of idealized mountain hydrothemi systems.

Instability Analysis of Terrain-Induced Canopy Flows

Tall vegetation and complex terrain create difficult conditions for measuring and modeling net ecosystem– atmosphere exchanges of carbon, water vapor, and pollutants. The instability of canopy flow regimes over complex terrain is critical for understanding what factors are essential to control exchanges between different canopy flow regimes. In this paper, an analytical criterion of instability...

Convective Boundary Layer Heights Over Mountainous Terrain—A Review of Concepts

Mountainous terrain exerts an important influence on the Earth’s atmosphere and affects atmospheric transport and mixing at a wide range of temporal and spatial scales. The vertical scale of this transport and mixing is determined by the height of the atmospheric boundary layer, which is therefore an important parameter in air pollution studies, weather forecasting, climate modeling, and many o...

Numerical study of flow and heat transfer characteristics of CuO/H2O nanofluid within a mini tube

Nanofluids are new heat transfer fluids, which improve thermal performance while reducing the size of systems. In this study, the numerical domain as a three-dimensional copper mini tube was simulated to study the characteristics of flow and heat transfer of CuO/H2O nanofluid, flowed horizontally within it. The selected model for this study was a two-phase mixture model. The results ...

Geoinformatics and cartographic analysis, based on modeling and mapping of the microclimate and groundwater flow

The study of the groundwater resources and their properties are very important due to the vast desert areas and arid conditions. Given the current situation in Iran, the water supply is one of the most important territorial and environmental problems. In this study, groundwater resources were surveyed and mapped in Yazd Province and their properties were modeled to determine their effectiveness...

Quantification of groundwater recharge using the chloride mass balance method in a semi-arid mountain terrain, South Interior British Columbia, Canada

Groundwater recharge is essential to groundwater resources availability to economy and society development in semiarid areas. Chloride mass balance method to assess groundwater recharge have been review and was employed to quantify groundwater recharge in North Okanagan which is a semiarid mountainous terrain, southern interior British Columbian, Canada. Chloride concentration in precipitation ...
